EXISITING VILLA

PROPOSED VILLA

Residential Modification

Villa 45

This villa modification project in Al Barsha redefines an existing conventional residence into a sleek modern villa distinguished by its clean geometry, open glazing, and refined volumetric balance. The classical arches and columns of the original façade were replaced with pure linear forms, layered horizontal planes, and warm neutral tones, creating a calm, contemporary architectural expression.

A key feature of the redesign is the cantilevered upper volume that projects boldly over the entrance and outdoor spaces, emphasizing lightness and depth. Integrating this cantilever with the existing frame structure presented a major design and technical challenge, as the original RCC frame and column grid had to be carefully analyzed and modified to accommodate the new extended spans. Reinforcing key beam lines, introducing concealed structural members, and optimizing the slab thickness allowed the cantilever to merge seamlessly with the old framework without visible structural interruptions. This precise coordination between design intent and structural integrity enabled the transformation to achieve both architectural elegance and engineering efficiency within the constraints of the existing villa.
