Linear House

The largest of the Saih Shuaib houses and the one most shaped by its plot, which is wide and comparatively shallow. Stacking would have wasted that frontage, so the plan runs long instead: the principal spaces are strung along a single circulation spine and expressed outside as interlocking white volumes that step forward and back across the width. That movement is what gives the elevation its interest — there is almost no applied detail anywhere on it. Tall slot windows with deep fins puncture the left-hand mass to light the stair without opening it to the street, while broad dark-framed glazing turns the main living wing towards the garden. A sculptural spiral stair climbs the flank to a roof terrace, recovering the outdoor space the low massing gives away.
